Agra: On the sixth day of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha at Sindhu Bhavan, Kamla Nagar, the divine narration of Krishna and Rukmini’s wedding took place. The revered storyteller, Acharya Mayank Upadhyay Ji, seated on the Vyasa Peeth, recited the Panch Adhyaya (five chapters). He explained that the Maha Raas consists of five chapters, and the five songs sung in these chapters are the lifeblood of the Bhagwat Purana. He stated that anyone who sings these five songs of Lord Krishna with devotion attains liberation and easily receives the divine grace of Vrindavan Bhakti.
During the discourse, Acharya Ji narrated various divine episodes, including Lord Krishna’s departure to Mathura, the slaying of Kansa, his education at Maharishi Sandipani’s ashram, Uddhav and Gopis’ dialogue, the establishment of Dwarka, and the wedding of Rukmini and Krishna, through a soul-stirring, musical rendition. He emphasized that faith and devotion are essential for attaining God, but determination and effort are equally important.
The depiction of Lord Krishna and Rukmini’s wedding enthralled the audience, filling them with joy and devotion. The event was further enriched by devotional music, which captivated the listeners. Acharya Ji mentioned that those who participate in the wedding celebration of Krishna and Rukmini with devotion find their marital issues resolved forever.
While narrating the divine wedding, Acharya Ji explained that Lord Krishna’s first marriage took place with Princess Rukmini of Vidarbha. He also conveyed that Rukmini is an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, who can never be separated from Lord Narayan. He emphasized that if a person dedicates their wealth (Lakshmi) to the service of the Lord, it brings prosperity and fulfillment; otherwise, wealth will eventually be lost through theft, illness, or other means. Therefore, wealth should always be used for noble purposes.
The devotional atmosphere of the Katha reached its peak when the Rukmini Vivah celebration made the devotees dance with joy. As Krishna and Rukmini exchanged garlands, a shower of flowers filled the air, making the moment even more divine.
Acharya Ji also spoke about the importance of living a virtuous life, stating that those who follow a disciplined and cultured lifestyle never face suffering. He highlighted the significance of daily rituals, advising that a person should:
- Wake up during Brahma Muhurta (early dawn),
- Perform daily prayers and fire rituals (yagna),
- Offer food to cows before eating,
- Live a disciplined life to attain divine blessings.
During the celebration, M Planet Digital World’s Managing Director, Akash Sharma, and Vishwa Sanatan Trust’s Secretary, Rekha Sharma, were so overwhelmed with devotion that they joined the dance, expressing their spiritual ecstasy.
